Definition of alliteration

 

Alliteration: An alliteration is a repetition of sounds (consonants) at the beginning of neighbouring words or of stressed syllables within such words, e.g. “fingers the small size of small spades.” Purpose: rhythm and stress.Let us go forth to lead the land we love.
