Definition of s-video
S-video: A video signal format that separates the signal into luminance (brightness, or Y) and chrominance (color, or C). Also called Y/C or SVHS. Can yield up to 700 lines from a camera and 500 from a VTR. Passed over one cable with four separate wires.
