INTERSOCIETAL SELECTION: The evolutionary process of “survival of the fittest” by which societies with technologically advanced production tend to have larger populations, larger territories, access to greater natural resources, and more powerful military and thereby tend to conquer or economically absorb less technologically advanced societies
