Definition of transporte intermodal

 

Transporte Intermodal - trata-se do transporte realizado através de dois ou mais modais de transporte, da forma mais eficiente possível, com mínimas resistências à movimentação contínua de bens e equipamentos de transporte, desde a origem até o destino. A intermodalidade pressupõe a existência de interfaces (terminais, portos, aeroportos, aduanas e armazéns) tão eficientes quanto os modais a que atendem.
