Definition of comm port

 

Communications port (RS-232C serial port) on a computer. It is used for attaching modems or other serial interface peripheral devices. An Intelâ compatible PC may have up to 4 comm. ports (COM1, COM2, COM3, and COM4). Serial ports have a transmission rate
