Definition of bretton woods system
Bretton Woods system : international monetary system developed after the Second World War. Under this system, adjustable pegs were employed, the International Monetary Fund helped stabilize foreign exchange rates, and gold (gold standard set at $35 U.S. per ounce of gold) and the dollar were used as international monetary reserves.
