Definition of lipids
Lipids - A loosely defined term for substances of biological origin that are soluble in nonpolar solvents. They consist of saponifi-able lipids, such as glycerides (fats and oils) and phospholip-ids, as well as nonsaponifiable lipids, principally steroids. [5]
