Gruneisen parameter (y) - Defined by y = a^K cV p, where aV is the cubic thermal expansion coefficient, k is the isothermal compressibility, cV is the specific heat capacity at constant volume, and p is the mass density. y is independent of temperature for most crystalline solids. [1]
