Definition of taylor

 

Frederick Taylor set out the theory of scientific management in a book published in 1911. He studied the way in which tasks were carried out and applied scientific methods to make them more efficient. He argued that people were mainly motivated by money and that the best type of payment system would be one based on piece rates where people were paid according to what they produced.
