Definition of job enrichment
Job enrichment is the process of giving a person more responsibility for the work they are carrying out. This will often mean the 'vertical' extension of their role to give them further responsibilities for more areas. For example, as well as carrying out a task they may also be given responsibility for the planning, quality control and other areas. It is argued that job enrichment will increase worker satisfaction.
