Definition of dividend yield ratio
The dividend yield ratio is a ratio that shows the amount an investor in shares receives as a percentage of the market price of the share. The ratio is calculated by dividing the dividend per share by the market price of the share and multiplying it by 100 to get it as a percentage. The higher the value, the better the income level that the share is offering.
