Definition of cost push inflation
Cost-push inflation is inflation that comes about costs increasing. When a cost of production (e.g. wages) increases, firms have to put up prices to maintain profits and this leads to inflation. Cost increases may happen because wages have gone up or because raw material prices have increased.
