Definition of co-operative

 

A co-operative is a form of business organisation where all the members of the firm have equal voting rights. It may be a workers co-operative where the workers have equal rights in the running of the firm and elect representatives to run the firm or a retail co-operative (like the Co-op) where the profits are shared between those using the shop.
