Definition of chairman
The Chairman (or Chairperson) of a firm is the head of the board of directors of the firm. They chair the meetings of the board and are responsible (along with the other directors) to shareholders for running the business in the interests of the shareholders and are elected by the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting of the firm.
