Definition of total quality control (tqc)

 

TOTAL QUALITY CONTROL (TQC): Meat processing plants can apply to the USDA to become a TQC plant. The program consists of various self-monitoring and quality assurance checks done by the plant’s quality control personnel to ensure compliance with all USDA regulations and standards. USDA reviews the program, but is not on-site as required for a non-TQC plant.
